Movie Club VIII - There will be blood

ACHTUNG!
Movie Club goes completely mental this fortnight with Falchion's choice, "There will be blood".
There Will Be Blood is a 2007 movie "loosely" adapted by Paul Thomas Anderson from the 1927 novel OIL! by Upton Sinclair.

Movie Club VII - Dr. Strangelove

Welcome to Movie Club VII!

Obiter has chosen a "corker" of a film for our next fortnight's fun.

The 1964 film - "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" is considered one of Stanley Kubrick's greatest films and a classic satire of the cold war era.
Peter Seller's multiple character performance is regarded as one of the truly classic "Tour de force" acting ventures.

Movie Club VI

Movie Club welcomes Austnet's favorite malcontent, "PrometheanStardust" (AKA: End) (AKA: "Hey you, stop trying to give my 11 year old Asian daughter lollies!") to Movie Club!!!
End brings some culture to Movie Club this fortnight with the film "Mongol". Directed by Sergei Bodrov, Mongol was nominated for the best foreign language film at the Academy awards this year and won various other awards.

"The story recounts the early life of Genghis Khan who was a slave before going on to conquer half the world including Russia in 1206."

Movie Club commends End for making the right choice.

Movie Club V

Movie club is proud to announce the next title!
This fortnight Tigger_ brings us a powerhouse feature for the next Movie Club installment.

"Tell No One" (Ne le dis à personne) is a 2006 French thriller directed by Guillaume Canet and based on the novel of the same name by Harlan Coben. It was written by Guillame Canet and Philippe Lefèbvre and stars François Cluzet.

Synopsis:

Important Movie Club information

Movie Club has seen it's numbers grow significantly in the last week. Obviously "The Sting" touched a nerve with the members of the channel. The demand is so furious that I've implemented the Movie Club Queue™.
There are very few rules to Movie Club, the rules that exist stipulate that anyone who views the latest Movie Club title gains the power to choose a future movie for the club to view.
It would also be highly desired if choices for Movie Club offer an HD version.
At this point in time the queue is as this:

Movie Club Queue™
16/10/08 - Tigger_
30/10/08 - PrometheanStardust (end)

Movie Club IV

This fortnight Movie Club mourns the death of the late, great Paul Newman in true style.
When Mr. Newman wasn't in the kitchen perfecting his delicious salad dressing range he was making movies, and we shall witness the 1973 classic heist film "The Sting".
All rise and welcome the next Movie Club choice and let this be a fitting reminder of how great Paul Newman was.

Movie Club Announcement!

Due to recent issues with D/L quotas and schedules, Movie Club choices shall now have a lifespan of a fortnight before the next title is announced. This should make it easier for everyone.

Movie Club The Third

LamontCranston's Lawyers have been on the phone all day!
Cranston's "people" have dropped a bombshell and demanded that the next title movie club must feature shall be the 1971 gangster film "Get Carter".
Be careful when searching for this film to not get "OWNED" by mistaking it for the 2000 remake of the same name starring the always interesting Sylvester Stallone.
