mIRC dead, so what else is there?

Unregistered users of mIRC will probably be aware that the more recent updates are far less permissive towards freeloaders these days, and now often requires you to close and restart several times before it will allow you past the nag screen. So I have had a look at the alternatives.

Welcome to "The Astor"

My new home cinema is now complete, and tonight officially opened with a showing of David Lynch's 1984 masterpiece, "Dune".

Here are some photos of the cinema.

Yeowie helped with setting everything up, here he is directing where the speaker cable should be placed.

Tetsuo The Bullet Man

After twenty years Shinya Tsukamoto returns to Tetsuo, the film series that put him on the map, with a third instalment; "Tetsuo The Bullet Man."

This is also his first film in English, seemingly to capture the international market, so perhaps there will be an Australian cinema release. What is certain is that it will walk all over Terminator Salvation.

Literary Symbolism on Neighbours

Neighbours has always been a wealth of subtle literary allusion for the entertainment of its many highly cultured fans, with past references from Aeschylus, Homer, Shakespeare, Goethe, etc. Recently the reference was visual, with Elle lying in bed reading Dostoyevsky's "Crime And Punishment". Needless to say no character on Home & Away would do anything of the sort.

How to make Warren homeless

Ipswich Single Mother

A woman walks into the Ipswich Centrelink office, trailed by 15 kids...

"WOW!" the social worker exclaims, "Are they ALL yours?"

"Yeah they are all mine," the flustered mother sighs, having heard that question a thousand times before.

She yells, "Sit down Terry!" All the children rush to find seats.

"Well," says the social worker, "then you must be here to sign up. I'll need all your children's names." "This one's my oldest - he is Terry."

"OK, and who's next?" "Well, this one he is Terry, also."

New Hidden Message on Neighbours
