Friday night Venkmans vicious ribbing was interrupted by a suggestion he introduce me to the joys he partakes in during the long nights he spends clubbing:
is this man Venkmans doppelganger? Is he the only one capable of ending this madness?
No further word came from Venkman, we thought his feelings had been hurt. We were wrong.
Using arcane rituals and practices learned in the Dark Lands from worshipers of the Old Ones, the fiend that was once Venkman has hijacked my IRC name!
His intention is obvious: to duplicate with high technology the ancient beliefs that to know someones name was to have great power over them.
I write this words while still in command of my faculties as a warning to others.
Say no to irresponsibility.
Since we can be fairly certain that Venkman is not a hacker, the only way he could have usurped your nick is if you let it expire, which allowed him to register it anew. It is your own responsibility to maintain the registration of your nick, and you can make mirc do this automatically each time upon joining austnet. Complaining about this is like leaving your toy on the playground and then acting surprised when someone else comes along and finds and takes it.
