2009 COMES ALIVE WITH: SEVEN UP!

MOVIE CLUB RETURNS, HAVING BEEN BAPTISED IN FIRE!

"Give me the child until he is seven and I will give you the man."

The Up Series is a series of documentary films that have followed the lives of fourteen British children since 1964, when they were seven years old. The children were selected to represent the range of socio-economic backgrounds in Britain at that time, with the explicit assumption that each child's social class predetermines their future. Every seven years, the director, Michael Apted, films new material from as many of the fourteen as he can get to participate.

The series has received extraordinary praise over the years, the epitome of which may be Roger Ebert's comments that it is "an inspired, even noble, use of the film medium", that the films "penetrate to the central mystery of life", and that the series is among his top ten films of all time.
Attempts have been made to repeat the series with subjects in the United States, the Soviet Union, Japan, and South Africa.

We shall have a fortnight to prepare for the premier of Seven Up!
It shall premier on Thursday 6th of August!

p.s. I have had a meeting with Movie Club Queueâ„¢, and it has agreed that it will consider returning if sufficient interest is shown in re-booting Movie Club.

Full Props!

This is the best Movie Club idea yet. Tonight I will download the entire series, and continue seeding them for awhile to help everyone with their download efforts.

The hard life of a downloader.

I have now downloaded the 7 Up torrent, but it turned out to actually be the one where they are 14, "7 Up Plus 7". So I tracked down some rapidshare links to the original 1964 "7 Up", which I shall download later to confirm they are correct, and if so, make them available to the rest of the krew.

Yeah I did the same. I think end pasted us the wrong torrent.

END must DIE!

END must be punished for this sin. What a waste of bandwidth!

As promised, the files!

Here are rapidshare links to the proper 1964 "7 Up", but also for the UP series at 14, 21, and 28:

I have tried them all, they all work.

Here are links for 35, 42, and 49 Up, but I haven't tried them yet:

Cheers bro. So you have already downloaded these files and they are legit?
I'll start the download a bit later tonight.

Long Live Movie-Club

I'm so excited, things are going so well without Mr. Monkeywrench (ie. LamontCranston) around to ruin things for us.

As my friend Hugo Chavez would say, "Viva La Movie-Club!"

Lamont will not be returning

Lamont will not be returning to the channel until he has agreed to make a distinct change in his attitude.

Pryde

Lamont has too much pride to admit that he was ever wrong about anything. But at least I am relieved now not to be harassed day in, day out with demands to read books about wizards.

Regarding 49 Up

Of the rapidshare links I posted above, they are all good except 49 Up looks fairly dodgy, the torrent file might be better looking, so I suggest you all get that instead.
