Neighbours has always been a wealth of subtle literary allusion for the entertainment of its many highly cultured fans, with past references from Aeschylus, Homer, Shakespeare, Goethe,etc. Recently the reference was visual, with Elle lying in bed reading Dostoyevsky's "Crime And Punishment". Needless to say no character on Home & Away would do anything of the sort.
