Culture

An intangible quality possessed by nations and ethnicities in place of more philistine achievements, such as clean drinking water, transparent political and judicial systems, free markets, science, technology, philosophy, or art. Art is particularly reviled for its vainglorious western egotism, and does not rise to the purity of 'craft' as practiced by the humble villager at one with nature. The quality of culture becomes even more pronounced when comparing say, a first world nation that rose from nothing in the space of 200 years, to a nation that remained nothing for 2,000 years.
